Custom Orders FAQ


If you are interested in an item, please contact us and we will provide a quote based on your requested quantity and design.

No! There are never any surprise fees. All quoted prices include setup, artwork, and shipping to U of A campus locations, including Augustana, Enterprise Square, Campus Saint Jean, and the Botanic Gardens.

If you require a rush order or shipping outside of a U of A campus, please let us know in your initial request and we will include that in your quote. Visit our shipping section for more information.

Yes! Most regular stock items and custom items are eligible for bulk discounts. Please contact us to request a quote.

Yes! We will price match any local competitor's quote that has been quoted within the last 14 days. If a Local Promotional Products Competitor in the Bookstore's Geographic Trade Area supplies you a quote for a lower price, for an identical or comparable item that we carry or would order in, show us the competitor’s quote within two weeks of receiving it and before the order is placed: we will match that lower price. No, our online gallery is only a small sample of what we have to offer. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, no worries! We have access to thousands of products from our suppliers, so let us know what you would like and we’ll be happy to source options tailored to your needs and budget.

Yes, custom orders generally have a minimum quantity requirement based on the type of product and decoration method.

If you require a smaller quantity custom item, please contact us and our team will be happy to work with you to source something that will fit your budget and needs.

All items listed on our website are subject to availability. Once you have provided us with your product preference and delivery date, we will check on stock availability and let you know if the product is available within your timeframe.

If the product you have selected is unavailable, we will provide you with similar products that will fit your delivery timeline.


Artwork requirements are as follows:

  • Accepted file formats: .ai, .eps or .pdf
  • Vector artwork is preferred. If files include images, they need to be embedded and have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi at the actual imprint size.
  • All fonts must be converted to outlines.
  • Minimum line width of 1 pt at the final imprint size.
  • Please ensure your file is set in CMYK. Pantone spot values should be indicated where exact colour matching is required.

If you don’t have your own design and are looking for some options to make up your mind, you have come to the right place! We have plenty of designs that are on brand and that offer the option for customisation with your department/faculty name. We will be happy to share these designs with you and help you select the right one based on the merchandise that you are planning to order.

If you have a design, but it's not set up in one of our accepted formats, we can usually redraw it for you for an additional fee. Please contact us for details.

We approve all designs directly with the university brand team to ensure they adhere to brand guidelines. If any adjustments are needed to your initial design, we'll help you with those.


Custom orders require about 4-6 weeks to arrive from the date the order is placed.

In some instances, we may be able to request a rush order or expedited shipping process to meet a tight deadline. Rush orders and shipping may be subject to additional fees, which we will outline in your quote.

Depending on your deadline, we may be able to request a rush order or expedited shipping on some items. Generally, rushes carry additional charges which we will include up front in your quote. Please contact us, let us know you require a rush, and we will do our best to accommodate!

We also carry a range of official U of A merchandise in-store that can be supplied within 24-48 hours. These items cannot be customized, but we do offer bulk pricing. Please provide us with your required quantity and preferred item type (i.e. t-shirts, mugs, bags, lanyards, etc.) and we will provide you bulk price quotes on any options currently available.

We offer free shipping to any University of Alberta campus, including Augustana, Campus Saint Jean and the Botanic Gardens.

Absolutely! Free pick-up is available at the store on North Campus and at Augustana. Please visit our shipping page for details.

Yes! If you are looking to ship a bulk order to individual addresses, we offer individual shipping and handling as an additional service. An extra handling fee will apply. Please speak with our custom orders team for more information.


We accept cash, cheque, debit (Interac), Visa, Mastercard, Union Pay, and PCard. For the convenience of your department, we also accept payment by speed code.

For your security, all debit, credit and Pcard payments must be made in person at the Bookstore, located in the Students’ Union Building on North Campus.

If you are paying by debit, credit, Pcard, cash or cheque, we require payment when the order is placed.

If you are paying by speed code, the payment will be processed after the order is received.

Return Policy

We will confirm all the details of your order with you before processing, and send you an artwork proof for final approval prior to production. Once final approval is received, all orders are final sale and cannot be returned.

We inspect and quality check every order before sending it out to customers. In the rare event that a mistake in the decoration or product occurs, please contact us immediately and we will replace your order or work out an alternative solution with you.
