Course Material Requests

A quick and easy system to request course materials, including print material, digital material and any other items essential for delivering lessons.

The U of A Bookstore works to ensure they have all of the course materials ready and available before the start of class. Offering students their course materials on or before the start of their class helps support the institution’s commitment to student success and academic excellence.

The timely collection of course material requests allows the Bookstore to forecast physical demand, stock appropriate quantities of those items, and ensure the availability of digital alternatives for as many titles as possible. It also ensures students are up-to-date about each class’ required course materials.

Lastly, course material data is shared with key stakeholders such as the Students' Union Zero Cost Textbook initiative, the Library Collections Strategies Unit, the Registrar's Office and the Copyright Office. Allowing each group to support student success in their own fundamental ways.

Submit Your Request

The Bookstore uses VerbaCollect to make it easy to request course materials each term. Request your course materials as early as possible to source your materials at the best price and reduce stress for the start of term.

Submit your request by the following deadlines to ensure course materials arrive by the start of classes. If course materials are not requested by the deadline, digital alternatives may be the only option for receiving materials on time.

  • May 15 for Summer courses
  • June 15 for Fall courses
  • October 15 for Winter courses
  • March 15 for Spring courses

When adoption requests open for the term, instructors will receive an email from Verba Collect with a personalized link to access and submit requests for course materials.

If you did not receive an email for the current term, or you have recently been assigned your course, please contact us using the form below and we'll help you get set up as a user.
